So- I have a pair ordered from Home Depot, scheduled for delivery today.

Now that it comes to it, I'm a bit nervous in trusting JUST the device... still gonna run water in the sink.

I suppose proof of function would be simply that it drips when cold, right?

I've seen videos of it on the end of a hose. Is that a safe way to do it, or would it be better on the actual faucet?

I put 6 of them on all the outdoor faucets directly and had no issues earlier this week. Closer to the faucet is best, there's a chance the hose can still freeze up since it's a much larger amount of surface area exposed to freezing temps.

I have them on my 3 spigots outside. I have a splitter on each spigot. Hose Miser on one side, regular hose on the other. I leave them on all the time and just switch the individual diverters when a freeze comes to activate the Miser and turn the hose off.
