This is the secondary reason for the sale. The first was refueling EV’s takes eight hours for a full charge versus ICE which have a five min refueling turnaround.
Impossible to make all EV work in a car rental business with fast turn around times.

Who the heck is dumb enough to buy a used EV?
You can get all the info you need to make a decision right on the dash on a Tesla at least. Depending on how it was charged it wouldn't be too bad.

I rented a vehicle recently and it was a hybrid. I didn't have time to deal with that shite. They have chargers around ,but they require you to download an app and you have to wait for some time. For me gas it is gas nozzle goes in, I pump the gas, then I go in and pay. Simple and in 5 minutes or less. Electric Cars are a pain in the arse and are more of a virtue signal than anything.

I would "buy" one if it was basically free.
And then insure it for double normal insurance.

I didn't realize you had to charge hybrid vehicles. I thought that the engine charged the batteries on those.

Do you have to charge it?
52 mpg is significantly more than the generic numbers posted online. Like 8 mpg more.
Wonder what it is about your specific situation that facilitates that?

I'm sorry but what bozo would rent an EV? Makes absolutely no sense

I keep the only EV I will ever use in my toy garage. It's called an off road golf cart.
That's the only sensible one to own.

rental cars definitely doesn't seem like the niche
I rented a Model 3 in Orlando a few weeks ago...took me a FULL charge to get to Cape Coral, and 80% to get to Tampa and another 80% to Orlando.
Charge cost almost $30 for 250 miles. Took almost 30 minutes @ supercharger AFTER I waited for a spot. NEVER AGAIN!

I own a Tesla.
I would NEVER rent an EV. That's for home ownership where you can keep it charge, not for on the go vacationing where you have limited miles and need to worry about recharging all the time. It was a silly gambit by Hertz. Tommy boy must be embarrassed right now

Great! Now all the EV supporters can get an EV at a reasonable price.

This.
I don't own an EV, but I can see why some people like it and have several friends with them. But that is for driving in areas and along roadways you're familiar with and know where charging stations are located should you need one, IMO.
I just can't imagine living in say...South Carolina, then flying to Arizona and wanting to rent an EV where you know nothing about the area and locations of charging stations.

I can see how an EV can work for some lifestyles but rental cars definitely doesn't seem like the niche that it was ever going to fill
Rental car agencies have them simply so white collar consultants and executives can virtue signal when they're on the road.
Side note: most clients paying for your expenses don't like when you show up to the site in a nicer car than they have. It's strongly frowned upon in many circles. EVs are also not expense budget friendly. There's a reason all of us that have consulted for years got used to driving Chevy and Toyota sedans. EVs are collecting dust in rental agency lots.

No the ice manages the battery
