New York Post says Nikki soundly beat DeSantis tonight in their 2 person debate on CNN

There was no debate about who came out on top in Wednesday night’s head-to-head showdown between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Of the five veteran politics watchers surveyed by The Post, four said Haley was the clear winner.
“She was sharp, informed, and compelling throughout the night,” he added. “Her use of ‘DeSantisLies.com’ was a smart rhetorical tactic by her campaign. Few will actually go to the website, but viewers heard that message over and over again. She drove it home.”
As for DeSantis, 45, O’Riley said the Sunshine State leader “hit his marks, but he lacks the confidence that Haley exudes. This debate won’t hurt DeSantis, but it did nothing to put momentum on his side.”
“His failure to display some level of humor or charm when going on the attack and his repeatedly calling Haley a liar will remind many women of their ex-husband,” Ryan predicted. “Haley came off strong and informed. She stood her ground and pushed back on DeSantis’ attacks. She was smart to focus more on her accomplishments.”
“Haley comes out of the debate with momentum. She comes across as the anti-Trump candidate in the race while DeSantis was trying to have it both ways.”
“Haley looked confident and sounded like a leader, but this is all the Twilight Zone,” said Democratic consultant Chris Coffey. “She can’t bring herself to go after Trump, who is leading in every poll. It’s like a battle to come in second after the game has been decided.

What a fricking idiot trying to talk to the whole party instead of choosing sides

Weird how the only blurb about Nisrata is how 3rd place Rob would tap her as VP
Bwhahahaha

A lot of viewers are non thinking sponges. Probably correct.

This is a static problem of DeSantis and there is no fix for it. It’s just the way he is. Some people don’t want this to be a factor but the reality is charisma and salesmanship are factors. Significant factors.

Along with his style being a secondary problem, this is his fatal problem. There is no lane for him. He wants the Trump voters and he wants to be Trump Lite but that’s essentially a non starter while Trump is still around. He had an almost impossible route by trying to be the Trump candidate without the Trump baggage while Trump is still here.

This seems like a quote from someone who works on her campaign. It’s like when Biden has a townhall and the people asking questions are pre arranged and the crowd is filled with campaign people

Their position is that he was mean to a woman and so women won't like him? Are they really going to make me watch this debate to find out the truth?

And you love open borders and money to Ukraine.

I’ve never seen two people fight so hard for a second place finish when second place gets you nothing.

If anything, DeSantis is Trump Heavy. He actually carried the MAGA flag forward and implemented America First/conservative policies as promised.
He’s the real deal while Trump is running on his 2015/6 promises again.

Looks like trying to talk to everyone in the party is working out great for Desantis. The polls and lack of his signs don’t make it look good . But will will find out later this month after some states actually vote. Most republicans don’t want to compromise with the other side of the party.

I think she is hoping Trump never gets to run based on her establishment friends trying to stop him from running. It’s a reasonable assumption.
