Probably under pressure to get people on the mountain. Hasn't the snow been late/light this year in the Sierras?

I don't think they hit those type winds today. The peak is certainly capable of it, having hit 160mph before, but I can't find anything even remotely close to those type numbers today on any weather station in the area.
