Yesterdays at the Ellick mall was where I went in the early 90s. Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat got the most play. Putt Putt golf had a game called Michael Jackson Moonwalker and I remember how I thought the graphics were amazing. Great time to be a kid.

The only Joe I knew was the owner. I think his kids, primarily his daughter, run the store today.
Old Man Joe was the founder. He owned a large thoroughbred breeding farm Noth of Folsom. Joey was his son.

My favorite arcade memories are playing multiplayer fighting and shooting games with my dad. He could be a big kid sometimes.

I remember spending a lot of time at gold mine and jolly chollys/sp? at the hammond square mall
Even earlier I remember going to the arcades on the westbank and ponchatrain beach. I remember seeing old games like seawolf/subhunt, but when pac-man came out it really changed the game, no pun intended

Aladdin’s Castle in the Santa Rosa Mall in Ft Walton Beach. Playing Tron, Moon Patrol, Galaga, etc.

One of my favorite memories of hanging out with my dad is when he used to bring me to the arcade that was in the shopping center on Greenwell Springs Rd. at Monterrey. This was in the early 80s. We would play Defender, Asteroids, Centipede, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man. All the classics. Good times!

To add to my comments
Dragons Lair was quite a breathtrough in gaming
Guantlent definitely ate a lot of quarters/tokens.
I personally enjoyed ikari warriors because my quarter was extended much longer then say
Tempest or Defender

I've actually been to that one back when we'd go to Destin and it would rain... Mom was like... looks like we're going to the mall. Go to Destin... in the early 80s... end up doing the exact same thing I did at home.

When Celebration Station first opened in Baton Rouge it had a pretty epic selection of arcade games.
The only three arcades I remember from the 80’s and 90’s are Spaceport, the one in Bon Marche next to the movie theater, and Celebration Station in around 1989ish.

Back then, Destin didn’t really have much out there except for a movie theater and a Kmart.

What kind of money did those places make?
Seemed like my relatively small home town had a couple of arcades ( not in a mall) that always seemed packed, but faded away as all arcades did.

Spaceport was the one in Cortana.
Bon Marche had a different one but I can’t remember the name of it. It was next to the movie theater inside the mall.

In Alexandria, a great night started at Godfathers and ended at The Odyssey

There was that spyglass motel next door to where we stayed... across 98 was actually an arcade, but they didn't have many good games for some reason. It's a Chick-Fil-A now.
But you are right... there wasn't much going on other than the beach and places to eat. June's Dunes, Captain Dave's (when they were on the Bay and had a dog that would dive for oysters or sand dollars), Hog's Breath... and the Santa Rosa Mall and arcade.

Back in the day, I could pop a couple of quarters in Street Fighter II and play all night. Whipping all comers.

Main spot was Space Port in Cortana, though the Essen Mall, Metro Bowl, Don Carter’s, Hoppers (Drusilla), Circle Bowl, and a few other places tended to have good games.
Pinball - Elvira And The Party Monsters, Space Shuttle, Star Trek, Lethal Weapon 3, Sharkey’s, and Street Fighter 2 come to mind.
Video games - Galaga, Airwolf, Peter Packrat, Jungle King / Jungle Hunt, Ghosts N Goblins, X-Men, TMNT, Spider-Man, Simpsons, Mortal Kombat 1, and Captain America and The Avengers come to mind.
Too young to really remember the glory days of the arcades in BR but Aladdin’s Palace in Bon Marche and the Chuck E Cheese on College (roughly where Hobby Lobby is) had fully stocked arcades circa 1983-1984.
