Bring a life jacket and waders if you want to ice fish in Kansas or Nebraska.

You admittedly haven't experienced a real winter since you were a child, let the people who deal with sub zero temps decided this.

lol you don't know what you're talking about. the season for >5" thick ice is shorter and more inconsistent than it is in say MN or WI, but it's there.

and i've still dealt with 1000x more winter than the entire state of arkansas. where i grew up averages about 20x more snowfall per year than Fayetteville.
