The Cavs are slightly better defensively when he's not in the lineup this year.
Last year he had a -.5 DRtg difference off the court compared to on, so bascially he made no difference to their defense.
Last year in the playoffs the Cavs were a +18.9 DRtg better with him on the bench losing 4-1 to the Knicks.

I'm curious on how you reconcile this data with also saying Allen is a zero on offense but the offense has been worse 6 straight seasons when he's off the court

Yes, Jarrett Allen is a poor fit on the Cavs (just as JV is a poor fit for us), because they need to go all in on Evan Mobley at center. That's why Allen might end up being available.
