You can go to Graceland on any random day and odds are you’ll see women standing at the grave of Elvis Presley, who’s been dead going on 50 years, women who never met him, many of them born after he died. And they’ll have tears in their eyes.

Holy cow. Imagine being a grown man and knighting so hard for an overweight alcoholic pedo who was good at singing.
Careful baw. You’ll cut yourself on all that edge.

And it's ok that nobody will visit my grave after 2 generations, I'm not there.

I'm just being neighborly, and he picked the neighborhood.

Not the same. I won't cry at a grave. He and other people and events can help mark time because you dont think of them as often as family or events in your life. So when someone says "It's been 20 years since LSU won the natty in 2003" you think "Damn, time flies."

R.I.P. Elvis.
Him and Priscilla were such a Power Couple.
“They met in 1959 when Priscilla was 14 and Elvis was 24. Their love would inspire millions.”
When they initially met they all thought she was older, because she appeared to be older. That's no excuse, but it wasn't like he was seeking out a 14 year old. In her own words, "Even though I was 14, I was actually a little bit older in life. Not in numbers. That was the attraction,"
More of her own words, "People think, 'Oh, it was sex.' Not at all. I never had sex with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving, but he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old,"
He just lost his mother and was serving in the Army at the time. What celebrity of that status would ever even serve? He could have gotten out of it, but that's not who he was. He definitely connected with Priscilla, but told her she was too young. It wasn't until years later that Elvis met back up with her.
Priscilla moved to Graceland in March 1963 and turned 18 that May. They married when she was around 21.
I like to listen to people who actually met Elvis speak about him. It's just incredible to hear all the stories of good he did. I especially like to listen to his former girlfriend, Linda Thompson, speak about him. She has a tremendous vocabulary and a way with words. What a life she has lived. From Elvis to Bruce Jenner to David Foster. Bruce actually started having feelings about being a woman while they were married and she was not okay with that, so they divorced. They remain good friends though. She has no regrets, because she loves the children she had with him. When Bruce met Kris she actually knew he wanted to become a woman. I believe she was cool with it, because she of the extra fame.

Elvis was the King of the 50's, and maybe the 60's.
King James is the King of the last decade and this decade.
He is not only the best basketball player of all time, but a spokesman with insight into some of our societal ills.

Should we also start "celebrating" deathday?
