Lots of protests with lots of reasons

Name some.

Pence is alive and umhanged

Only because your insurrectionist buddies couldn't find him.

What did they want to happen?

A novel legal challenge to the EC certifications

Overturning a lawful election isn't a novel legal challenge, as John Eastman is in the process of discovering in the CA Bar Court.

What did they violently try to do?

Stand up to cops like we saw in most cities all summer in 2020

What was the end goal of their "standing up to cops" at the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021?

No. The problem is your understanding of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

quote:

Incorrect. The ruling is stayed, true, but without SCOTUS overturning the Colorado Supreme Court (or granting cert and slow-walking past November, which doesn't appear to be the case after today) he will be ineligible to appear on the ballot.

He is, at this moment, eligible to be in the Colorado ballot per the Colorado Suoreme Court ruling. You are wrong.

I'm sorry that history feels dishonest to you. But that's often a problem with Republicans these days.

So clear, in fact, that 3 was used already without said laws. It's already been done, and you're already wrong

You just aren’t good at legal arguments.

Your problem isn't with my understanding, it's with multiple judges in multiple states and their understanding.

SFP is no fan of Trump. But he is an accomplished lawyer. You are out of your league.

I asked you for a supreme Court case.

Did you respond with one?

When the Supreme Court slaps this down will you appeal to authority still?

So you’d be comfortable wagering on whether he’ll be on ballot in November? Or you’re just gonna keep avoiding because the truth of the matter is you’re a giant pussy :)

Nope. What they were banking on is that the SCOTUS wouldn't hear it in time before the absentee ballots were printed up and sent out.

Now that they are going to hear it in time, we'll just have to see about all that won't we?

None is required by the first amendment. Nor proscribed by it.

What was the ultimate goal that day, in their own words?
If someone was trying to overthrow the government they are the most laughablely prepared in all of history.

The left of their own volition. Without overthrowing the government. So… it’s seems pretty damn clear.

Where in the 14th Amendment's text does it lay out the requirement that he be charged for insurrection? It's enough that he engaged in it, which no honest person denies.

How did he engage in it exactly? Speaking in DC the time that the so called insurrection happened doesn’t mean he engaged in it. Actually Trump stated go in peace, patriotically let your voices be heard. Hell did you not see what the media called peaceful during the summer of 2020? This is the same media that says there was a so called insurrection. No honest person thinks Trump did anything wrong. Just the nutcases that want him off the ballot!

Article 1, section 3 says Congress can disqualify an impeached person from holding any office under the United States.

“office UNDER the United States” and “officer OF the United States” are not the same thing. And I’m thinking you’re aware of that distinction.

Funny how you chose not to respond to my posts that blew your bullshite out of the water.

The DNC hasn’t issued you talking points for “POTUS isn’t an officer of the United States” yet, have they?

Guess you’ll need to wait for an amicus brief to quote.
