Finding the best person in the world at being fair isn't on the list of any SCJ. For some reason the qualification of being a lawyer is now an unwritten rule. It is an extreme form of closed-minded hiring, but shows how people travel along that path just knowing it is better.
Is being able to define "woman" one of those "unwritten rules" as well? JFC
