How does it stack up to seasons 1-3?
i've posted quite a bit over the last several days about how i think it compares to season 1 so far, just click back through the pages. it's not nearly as good as season 1, and if i had to guess once the dust settles, it will probably be on par with season 3.

Too early to tell. As of now, it definitely has the vibe of seasons 1 and 3.
Jodi Foster and Kali Reis are getting bagged on in this thread, but so far their performances are fine. Foster's character is definitely damaged, but she isn't as fatalistic as Rust was.

So far I like it. Still a lot of loose ends that I look forward to being tied up. One thing that was glaring and did irritate me was the murdered woman's brother drinking Lone Star beer. I get that it was a nod to season one but no one in Alaska has ever seen a Lone Star beer much less drinking Lone Star.

I’m a little concerned with the shortened season and them being able to fully flesh out the characters/motivations.

it's the supernatural element

She said a least 48 hrs when she was at the lab, so however much time elapsed from that point to the discovery of the bodies

Definitely pretty crazy so far

From watching the trailer and maybe a bit of a spoiler, she said they were dead before they were even frozen. Of course that could be a misdirection.

It’s so un-woke that Jody Foster fricks a man.

Damn near right wing propaganda

My wife and I are half way through the 2nd season.. IMO, the root of the problem with this season is there are to many "main" characters.. just too fragmented and as a result the story line just feels like a bit of a hot mess..
This. And the fact that the script reads like a very rough first draft.
With some more time and editing, S2 could have been a lot better.

A trans man?

Same. This weekend's episode will be pretty important in this aspect. Otherwise we'll be past halfway with still pretty vague understanding of the main characters.

Why couldn't they just do a standard season length?
All of these companies and studios are making more profit than ever and we are going to fewer and fewer episodes.

It has nothing to do with women or woke or Hollywood liberal agenda or whatever… this season just isn’t that great. I’m pretty liberal and have zero issue with things being woke or advancing a trans-satanic globalist gay agenda or whatever… but this just isn’t that great.

This episode lost me. I'm out. It's not good this season.

I can’t figure out if they are just hinting at a lot of supernatural stuff or if it is actually going to wind up that these natives are a bunch of shapeshifters.
It took me a second, but the one Eskimo had one eye missing, and we saw that earlier with the pole bear.
And at what point are we going to find out what is the deal with Jodie and her native
Stepdaughter?
Maybe season one just set the bar too high. That’s the only one I’ve watched before this one.
