Traeger is the worst value. Their pellets were bogus too. I think they may have changed their pellets in recent years due to them getting shite on so badly.
Camp Chef if good with reasonable quality on some models.
Green Mountain has value and is highly regarded for flavor by hard core BBQ guys.
Some of the Pit Boss's are great some are junk. I am partial to the Pro Series 1600. Value is good on it an the auger is very reliable on all the Pit Boss's.
I run a smoke tube with pure hickory pellets for every cook. It is the only way I have found to get decent smoke flavor.
As for size you need bigger than you think so you can keep your food away from the burn pot. My next pellet grill will have a burn pot that is off to the side. Ribs and brisket always get cooked on the second rack.
