Serious advocates of climate change would answer you that it is not bad, in and of itself, and what is bad is the rate of change we are approaching - at least according to their models which are always wrong.
Their point is that gradual climate change is fine. If the coast recedes 5 meters per 50 years that is easy to adapt to. But if the coast recedes 5000 meters in 50 years that would be hard on humans.
