Mom was guilty too, but I don’t know if her heinous crimes warranted a death sentence.
Nah. She deserved to die, and earned it.
This isn't the usual piece of shite, ill-equipped to be a parent a-hole with a bad temper and low impulse control who hits his kids (which the OT often says should just be hanged, by the way), or the abusive alcoholic who blacks out and goes into a rage of beatings and abuse.
No, this was a woman who methodically planned her abuse over the course of years, involving hundreds of others, using the state she willfully put her daughter into to grift hundreds or thousands of other people. She willingly put her daughter through surgeries, medical procedures, poisoned her with unneeded medications, manipulated her mentally and emotionally for years, and did it all without a bit of remorse. She needed to die.

There are cases that regardless of the law you shouldn’t convict someone
Murdering your kidnapper to escape shouldn't be a crime.
She shouldnt have done any time honestly

Agreed. The man who did the deed should have been hailed as a hero. Everyone involved in sending these people to prison is a criminal imo. The fact that either one of them did one single minute behind bars while we have rampant violent crime everywhere is an indictment of our justice system.

what the frick? This is no different than the 13 year old in NOLA who blows your head off for your 4runner.
Oh, his dad abused him and left—so what. You harm innocent people yourself, no matter your trauma, you own it
Wtf? It’s completely different. She didn’t blindside some law-abiding accountant on his morning commute and shoot him for his car, she was desperate to get away from an abusive and controlling captor. Both she and the boyfriend have consistently said she didn’t even take part in the actual killing.
I’m not saying that her mother’s crimes, no matter how heinous, justify brutally murdering her in cold blood, but let’s at least acknowledge the fact that Dee Dee Blanchard was in no way innocent or randomly targeted.

Innocent insofar as he was a bystander until this woman manipulated him into murdering her mother
You mean the innocent guy who admitted he was going to rape Dee Dee before killing her but didn't out of respect for Gypsy?

A better “justice” would have been to sentence Gypsy to a mental health facility to serve her time, same for the guy, but have his sentence be longer.

Dee Dee would have been right at home as a guard a Nazi Concentration Camp for women.

I mean for anyone to make the leap that those two crimes are remotely the same indicates a level of mental ....well, I don't have to tell you, you obviously see how stupid the poster making that statement is.

He actually wanted to rape her dead body but Gypsy had to talk him out of it and offered herself instead
He does not belong in society

Just for fun, here's a pic of Gypsy and her Mom.
As you can see, Gypsy has no teeth. They rotted out partially due to the fact her salivary glands were unnecessarily removed.
I hope they took a dump in the toilet as they flushed Dee Dees' ashes....

Remember the case in our area where the girl was molested for years and the judge let the guy go? The girl’s boyfriend killed him for her. I wonder where they are now.

And killed someone who deserved it, so I am totally okay with that.

You got this from a post about her having no teeth?

His sentence should be commuted immediately. I get the optics of an outright pardon, but the governor should get his arse out of jail.
Found a documentary on YouTube about her, her mother, the boyfriend and their story.
The boyfriend was/is a psychopath, he wanted to rape the mother after he killed her. Gypsy didn’t come across as being mentally stable either.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable living next door to her.

Mommy Dead and Dearest was a great documentary. I don't think there are many people that watched that and wasn't like "yea I don't blame her."
Posted on 12/29/23 at 12:17 pm to imjustafatkid
No the 20+ posts that he posted before about her.

Yep. That's some straight up black and white justice for a squeaky clean abused girl.
She did some abhorrent and pathological things in the days following her mother’s murder, and I wouldn’t be surprised if being raised, abused, and intentionally stunted in every realm of development by an obvious sociopath hadn’t instilled some of the same maladaptive behavior patterns in her. I don’t think anyone has argued that she isn’t likely to need a lot of support and mental health care to function well on the outside.
What I don’t see mentioned a whole lot was how the cocktail of unnecessary meds, which included psychotropic drugs, she was on at the time of the murder could have impacted her mental and emotional capacity. Gypsy herself said that, while the effects of the drugs don’t excuse her actions at all, her emotions were blunted and her mind felt empty of any substantive thoughts. She also didn’t participate in or witness the actual murder and seemed incapable of acting on her own in that regard regardless of her chemical or emotional state, meaning she might have remained under her mother’s control to this day if killing Dee Dee had in fact been her only way out.
She was a desperate, childlike, criminally overmedicated, lifelong abuse victim in an extremely novel and overwhelming situation — that alone could torpedo a person’s impulse control and psychosocial processing. The seeming impossibility of the situation would only add fuel to that fire. It’s a textbook recipe for clinically breaking from reality in and of itself. Then imagine how the presence of pharmacological agents used as “treatment” for physical and mental conditions she didn’t have (and later, possibly by abrupt withdrawal from those same meds) would exacerbate all of it.
Given the way all of her close family members have embraced her in the aftermath and have firmly stated that she’s been punished enough, I believe she’s paid any so-called debt to society and presents no threat to public safety at this point. There was zero reason to keep her locked up.
