Nope. They will win games, but they still won’t win the big ones.

I don't know if I would go that far. But given what they are expected to return and their 2024 schedule, I'd say next year is their best chance in decades to legitimately make a run.
A two loss SEC team is unlikely to be left out of a 12 team playoff. OM's non-conf schedule is awful. (On paper) their SEC road schedule doesn't look terribly daunting: At LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida. They don't play Alabama or Texas. They do play Georgia and Oklahoma, but both are at home. It's not unfathomable to think they can win all of the non-conf. games, and go 3-1 on the road and 3-1 at home, for a 10-2 season.
If I'm an Ole Miss fan (and I'm glad I'm not!) next year is the year to go "all in", and it appears they are doing just that in the transfer market.
