They expand well enough to kill deer. Barnes TTSX has killed more deer than we can count, and the hammer bullets seem to be developing a following. If you’re using something super fast or super slow you may need to do a little research but that’s at the fringes. They’re going to tend to exit and bleed.

I love them. Currently loading 143’s in my 28 nosler and 200’s in my 35 whelen. I think 6-7 deer have been killed with my rifles shooting hammer bullets, and every deer except for 1 has died in sight. The only one that ran off, I shot inside 10 yards and the blood trail painted the trees he ran by.
I also load 160’s for my buddy’s 28 nosler and he’s had similar results as I have.
