Lateral move or coach in waiting?

Honestly, this gives LSU a chance to upgrade. Red zone and short yardage was an issue all season. We just scored at will otherwise because of JD ML BT and the gang. Denbrock was good but the creativity is lacking. How many times did he go the well on the JD option run/pass with Taylor in the shallow flat? It was low success all season sans the 1st drive of the season against FSU. That was his creative go to ......over and over and over

Again, I like him. No problem with him. But BK has a good opportunity here. Unfortunately, this happened way later than it should have. This needed to happen Sunday after aTm

I'd say lateral, if Denbrock wanted to finally be a head coach, I don't think he'd have waited until he was 100

This felt so much like the Brady bs. We gave him amd extension and he ran away.

@bearcrocs

ND fan here. I have been reading this forum off and on the last decade plus because your fan base has some of the greatest rants ever and from an outsider it is pure comedy

However, I come in peace here without any trolling or ill-will.

I can assure you that Mike Denbrock does not hate the south, hate Brian Kelly, hate LSU, nor did he want to damage the program on the way out. I am sure part of this all came out when it did after the early signing period was over for that reason.

I can also tell you from very close friends with his wife, that Mike and his family LOVE the South Bend/Granger/Mishawaka area. They raised their children there. They love the university and he has had two stints there and has had immense success as a TE coach, WR coach, OC and it is a program he loves and enjoys being a part of. He genuinely loves ND. Him leaving LSU has nothing at all to do with LSU. And if Brian Kelly is worth his salt, and he is when he puts his full effort into it, he will easily be able to find a suitable play caller. LSU is traditionally a top 10 program in college football. People will be very interested.

Will mike Denbrock at least coordinate the offense for the bowl game?

Why would he pick a lateral move

This makes me think House is staying.. the only reason I can think Denbrock would leave is if he knew he was going to have another “could have won a championship” season at LSU but the defense was non existent.

What a patronizing load.

We don't need an ND fan coming here to tell us about LSU.

WTF

I didn't mean to be patronizing. It is just reality. The same reality was that LSU paid Kelly and gave Kelly an opportunity that ND couldn't to live in an area that ND could never replicate and gave him some wiggle room in recruiting that ND would never give him, among other things that Kelly valued more than ND. Better golf courses too.

I respect the hell out of the LSU brand of football. A helluva lot more than I respect some other characters in the SEC. God bless to you all and happy holidays. I wasn't trying to infiltrate your forum.

This is a horrible look for LSU. Do you think Bama would lead the nation in offense, win the Heisman...and then lose their coordinator to ND? Starting to think this whole Kelly hire is gonna blow up on our face. We wanted Freeman as a DC, went to ND. We wanted Rees to come with Kelly, he stayed at ND and then on to Bama. And now this...smh

It makes one wonder just what Kelly is trying to do with his staff. My guess is that ND has a lot more money, but South Bend is no garden of Eden.
