Yep. Kinda all started with the very first play in Saints history when on September 17, 1967 John Gilliam returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown only for them to go on to lose 27–13 to the Rams.

I was about to post this. Glad I found a thread about it.

I was at this game. What’s funny is we met this lady walking out of the stadium wearing Saints clothing. She told my mom, that her husband was gonna be so upset. My mom told the lady, it’s okay, it’s just a game. The lady looked at my mom, and said “my husband is the kicker for the Saints”
