My father was a Marine in Vietnam, so he was a particular fan of the Corsair.

I saw many as a child. The air shows were pretty loud.

I will take your advice and listen for the whistle when I get there.

mine too

Dad had some great WWII and post-WWII Corsair photos, as he flew them for a while. Unfortunately, one of my sisters has the photos so I'll never see them again.

If I recall correctly the actual whistling sound came during dive attacks so you won’t notice it too much at an air show. The do have a fantastic sound just flying by. It has the sound of a precision machine operating more than just a big loud motor. Hard to describe.
