So, you think LSU would have a better class if they just signed the 17 4-stars (3rd most of any school) and not the 10 3-stars?

LOL! You have a reading comprehension problem.

Looking at the upvotes and downvotes on all the posts in this thread you can tell which ones are the dumbfricks from tRant upvoting stupid MFers that don't pay attention to recruiting and only care about stars (aka, watched zero tape). You can also tell the dumbfricks by who is downvoting the recruiting guys who know what they are talking about because they pay attention to every detail of recruiting all year long.

I’ve been following lsu recruiting for 20 years. I picked 2020 bc it’s been consistently mid road sec since then and it’s showing on the field.

No, I don’t. It’s you who doesn’t seem to understand the implications of what you are saying. By claiming that the average rating of the players signed is the best measure of a signing class, you are saying that every player signed that is below the team’s average actually hurts that team’s signing class. LSU’s average player rating would be much higher if they only signed the 17 4-stars and none of the 3-stars. By your stated logic, that would have made it a better class.

Covingtontiger said this class won’t work out.

It's a pretty solid class.

It is not likely a class that will propel us to a championship over Bama, UGA, Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, etc. If we don't get more elite playmakers, all the "consistent" and "aligned" 3 and 4* will keep us right in the 10-15 range. Good enough to make the playoff, not likely good enough to win a championship.

These rankings are like preseason rankings, just a pile of s**t until the actual season gets underway. I would rather have 3 and 4 starts eager to grind, put in their 3/4 years and better themselves to making them 1st/2nd rounders than having some of these 5 stars who just want the money and if they don’t get their way change schools. As long as we are top 20, I trust our coaching staff to be able to develop the talent and make this team great.

I've noticed if you want to feel the hate then post anything rational, but if you want the green up arrow just say something like "boys, BK is on his way to his 1st natty"
Works every damn time

There is nothing rational about posting ESPN recruiting rankings to justify any argument ever except that ESPN’s recruiting rankings are fantasyland bullshite with no staff, research, or evidence behind them.

LSU is either 5th nationally and 4th in the SEC (including Texas as in the SEC now) or 12th nationally and 5th in the SEC, depending on which of the 2 reputable services you choose. Average them and you still have a top 10 class. That’s rational, but I have a feeling you prefer to stay casual.
