Drew Brees threw a high pass to Duece. Duece blew out his knee coming down straight on his leg while trying to make the catch.

Remember when Drew threw that swing pass to Reggie against the Eagles in the Divisional Rd of the 2006 season?

As you may recall, a bad pass from Carr resulted in Mike getting injured against Minnesota.

I remember Carr in an interview saying Thomas told him if he sees the throw to get it to him and he'll take the hit if he has to. I guess he changed his mind now that he actually got hit.

He always was. Michael Thomas was one of the players leading the locker room rift against Brees when he initially wasn’t kneeling during the anthem.

Michael Thomas got in the high profile fist fight with CGJ, resulting in them trading CGJ to keep MT happy. CGJ went on to lead the NFL in interceptions in route to a super bowl ring with the Eagles.

Michael Thomas’s contract was one of the reasons the Saints couldn’t afford to resign Trey Hendrickson and Onyamata, leading to the rapid decline of our formerly dominant defensive line.

I was right when I said we shouldn’t pay Michael Thomas, and I’m still right about it. Bring on the downvotes. I know none of you are willing to admit the truth.

I'm guessing, despite his telling his uncle to go say he's ready to play, the Saints told him that wasn't going to happen.

Thomas had a historic season his 1st year of the new contract. It's really unfortunate he got the ankle injury in garbage time vs the Bucs in 2020 bc that injury probably kept the saints from the Super Bowl in Brees' last year and it seems to have ended Thomas' career

And Hendrickson has more sacks in each of the years since than Thomas has touchdowns in all the years combined. We gave up an elite pass rusher for an after paid dud

2 points I disagree with

I think Hendrickson was more about the front office not being able to admit they were wrong about Davenport. Onyemata earned a big payday and probably wanted to follow his d-line coach. MT's contract played a part in the cap, but if Loomis needed to make it work he could have made it work.

IMO, this was more about the bad blood left with the way the Saints used him as a bargaining chip to try to get Watson. He was pissed with the way it was handled and came in very disgruntled. Regarding leading the league in interceptions, while this is a factual statement why didn't Philly feel the need to keep him around if he was such an instrumental part of their defense? It's not like he signed a huge deal when he went to Det.

If anyone is just realizing MT is human garbage, I feel sorry for them.

MT blames his mom and dad for dropping him on his head when he was a whiny arse baby. That explains everything.

What a difference a few months make- MT in June 2023:

Oh, he’s been amazing,” Thomas said, via Katherine Terrell of ESPN. “Amazing. I can’t wait to play with him and just be out there and execute and create something special with him, a connection, you know? Just like, the way he demands the huddle, the sense of urgency, just the way he handles himself, he’s a pro.

“He’s great for these young guys to see, his demeanor. Just everything, just watching him, from when he gets in the building. Kind of how Drew [Brees] was, you could watch Drew ... you could learn from him, the locker room you could learn from him.”

Thomas also said that he’s developed a solid working relationship with Carr, in large part because, “He wants to win just like I want to win.”

“He’s just very disciplined. He’s on top of his stuff. He came here for a reason,” Thomas said. “That’s the same type of confidence I hear in his voice — he came here for a reason, he came here to win. You can feel the sense of urgency. He loves ball. It’s not hard working with him. ... He tells me what to do, I tell him where I’m going to be, and we’re on the same page. We can execute at a high level.”

I am not saying you were wrong then

Hindsight says you were correct

I was in the camp that said pay the man. Thomas was off to a historic start, putting up 1st ballot numbers but also played in a way that could age well. Physical but elite route runners can play a long time in this league...if they avoid injury...something we hadn't seen as an issue before he signed that deal

Saints problem wasn't paying Thomas it was not ejecting while he still had trade value especially after Drew retired

They waited and held him to the point that we are now. Sunk costs and praying someone can sign him to a deal that can generate a comp pick...not even a 3rd...just a free pick

I’ll say it again
It’s best for both parties to move on in three weeks
They can make him inactive last three weeks

I didn't think I'd hate anyone more than Carr, but I do. It's Michael Thomas. He's a mother fricking jackass. Get rid of him tonight.
