Big game tonight, lads. We need Seattle to lose for WC purposes

I hear ya but Seattle has stolen some annoying wins (beast quake) vs Saints, their fans are weird and so I’m always happy to see them lose at home.

Especially with the nasty weather tonight, let them be miserable.

Def helpful. Rams too. We’d flip with them if we win. Unless the Bucs lose

Split decision. Need Philly to win to help w WC if Saints don’t win division. Need Sea to win to keep Dallas fighting through week 18 and unable to rest starters in case Saints win next 2 and can rest players for week 18 (that was a crazy statement to type out :lol)

I’m not convinced that’s a thing. I’ve seen resting starters backfire. Can be a momentum killer - esp if a team is peaking.

Me thinks Philly winning helps us most.

Oh, and obligatory frick Dallas.

This games means nothing if the Saints lose to the Rams on Thursday.

Saints have no shot at the WC with the Rams, Vikings and Atlanta/Bucs all having tiebreakers

This game is hugely important if we win this week and lose to the Bucs. Clearly, that’s what the post is about

The only way the Saints can get the Wild Card is winning vs Los Angeles and losing to either the Bucs or Falcons. More than likely win division if you win the next two.

Lose to the Rams and the season is over essentially.

Did you review the graphic I posted? As in, that’s what the thread presupposed

Now, your claim about the Rams loss is inaccurate. If we lose to the Rams and Seattle drops one to the Steelers, we’re still in as the WC, assuming MN drops both to the lions

A loss to the Rams gives the Saints a 3% chance at the Wildcard. What you're predicting is almost a mathematical miracle. They still have a 17% chance at the NFC South

3% for Seattle to lose to a 500 Steelers team and Minnesota to lose two when they have the Lions to play twice? How’d you figure those odds?

You're under the assumption the Lions have something to play for in Week 18 and yes. Even then, the Saints will would have to win both Week 17 and 18.

Let's also not leave our Green Bay who could also make it in over the Saints with identical records.

No shite, that’s a given. They also play GB which won’t be an easy game

So if Green Bay wins out and the Rams beat the Saints, the Saints are eliminated from the Wild Card. Got it.
