I had the most stable BP of anybody; right at normal until early 2022. went from normal to 150/95 in about 3 months. been on low dose BP meds that get it down to 110/70-ish. age:upper 50's weird.
but even weirder: wife is 54 and has incredibly low BP. people have trouble even taking it, it's so low.(high for her is 90/60) but her father had really high BP.
Even weirder-er: I went from your wife’s range to yours over the course of the last year and a half. Just like that.
Early to mid-40s
BMI of 17.8
Exercise regularly
Don’t smoke, light drinker, no illicit substances
Diet is generally pretty clean
On no other prescriptions at the time
Kidneys seem fine, but I’m a poor responder to BP meds so far
Kept a log for a month and did repeat BP readings at doctor’s office. Doc was shocked when subsequent readings were significantly higher after I’d been chilling in a chair with my feet flat on the floor for half an hour in between.
So far I guess I’m a medical mystery. Literally my only risk factor at this point is family history, and it’s the one thing I can’t control.
