You have to admit that there WAS a discernable difference in how people socialized when there was no social media

I don’t disagree with that, true all the way. I just meant parents were still stuck in front of the tv for hours, newspaper, etc. I played outside because we didn’t have money but plenty of friends even in the 80s sat inside for hours playing video games.

I agree that the military is becoming wussified, but that first video shows a bunch of drunk A-holes ganging up on a guy. 5 guys against 1.. yeah, real manly.

Sure, but that time wasn't '09. Myspace was already well on the way out (and it wasn't "niche", as you referred to it, for people in their teens and twenties at the time, ie most of the military. It was extremely popular), and people were already complaining that the 'olds' had ruined facebook by then.

The military was already full of PC crap when I joined in the 90's. Just pointing out that your timeline is way off, and the time you're branding as glory years or some shite (09) were among the darkest years I remember in the army.

Deployments had taken a serious toll by then. The army was full of recruits that made it in under relaxed standards and total shitbirds were showing up from IET every week. Morale was low as frick. Drug use was high. The army, at least, was not doing great in 2009.

Again, not claiming that your observations don't have any validity. You just picked an awful cutoff to make your case.

I’m not saying that the military was perfect in 2009. But the difference in terms of there being no woke culture compared to today was pretty significant. The alphabet group didn’t have a big enough voice, and social media platforms like Instagram enabled them to

Did you actually listen to the first video? The one guy (something happened to his home life) instead of consoling something was said be cause he wished it on the other guys kids and got the crap knocked out of him over and over. That’s pretty sad. I guarantee it wasn’t forgotten about.

Fun filled fact: a guy I went to church with served as an openly trans army major the entire duration of Trump. Brandon's doj tried to set he and his wife up for Russian spying, got a mistrial round 1. Dude isn't a tranny in 2023 Brandon is out there reverting trannies back to men.

are you here to insult those who’ve unselfishly served our country?
