How do you know you have no power to the switch? Did you measure across the open switch? If nothing is plugged into the switched outlet that will not tell the tale. You should have a lamp that is turned on, plugged into the outlet when you check across the switch.

Depending on how the switch is wired, you could have neutrals in the switch box. If so check from the input side of the switch to neutral. If you have power there throw the switch and check from the output side to neutral. If you have power there then you probably have a bad outlet of a bad connection. Check the outlet by removing it and checking the from the screws on one side to those on the other.

You probably have a junction box somewhere in the line with an open.
Check your breaker to ensure you have power out of the breaker. Then trace the line to the next JB.
