When you spend high draft picks on elite skill position talent and then proceed not to use them in favor of 30 yo free agents, you might have a shitty franchise and an idiot coach

Plot twist: That "elite" skill talent turned out to be nowhere near as good as they hoped it would, particularly Pitts. He doesn't run very crisp routes and it is much, much harder to just out-athlete people in the NFL than it was at Florida. When you were picked #4 in the draft, the coach shouldn't have to scheme you open. You should get open because you're just better than the man across from you. Pitts struggles with this. IMO, route running is the #1 trait to look for in a receiver coming out of college to the NFL, and Pitts's routes are lazy and sloppy. He is also an awful, awful blocker on plays where they line him up as a traditional TE.

London is solid. He's not a gamebreaker like you'd want from the #8 pick in the draft, but he's perfectly fine.

Drafting a RB in the top 10 is stupid no matter who it is. The talent of the RB means absolutely nothing if the scheme and OL are shite.

I’ve only watched the Falcons here and there but I’ve found it hard to gauge Pitts and London in that shitty offense with Ridder or whoever else throwing them the ball. Agree on Robinson in the top 10, just not a smart way to use resources. But he is still very talented and they have him now so might as well get the most of out of it.

Blank is definitely a really bad owner, he has just avoided that designation because he avoids scandals, is generally a nice person, and made hot dogs $2.

They refuse to build the team correctly and everyone is dumbfounded when it doesn’t work out. Mccay needs to be fired and whoever is signing off on these absurd first rd draft picks needs to go to. We have totally wasted 3 seasons of rebuild with bad drafts. It is going to be a long time until the team is relevant again.
ETa the only positive is the division is absolute dogshit and all 4 teams really have no immediate path forward to success

How would they know when they don’t use them

Maybe but he did have 1000 yds receiving his rookie year. Coaching and development is also allowed if there’s holes in his game.

Maybe more a product of terrible QB play. Also points to the shitty organization if you’re taking WR that high with zero plan at QB, take lineman take defense instead

I agree with that but if you’re gonna do it, why not use him? It would be one thing if he wasn’t preforming but he’s been really good on the efficiency metrics most of these season. Complete waste to give 30+ yo Cordelle Patterson rushing attempts. At least the Panthers used McCaffery and the Giants used Barkley. I would not have taken him there I wonder whose decision it was, back to the point of a shitty overall organization
