This is unfortunate. Our next 7-8 games are really easy and we need to step on the gas here before the second half of the season takes off. We're going to wish we had these wins come April. I'm absolutely terrified this is going to turn into a "we'll evaluate in two weeks" type of deal and he misses 9-10 games. God almighty.

***

"Bro he practiced today he'll be fine" Lmao, not falling for that again. He was practicing for a full month back in April 2023 and was doing windmills and stuff before our final games. He refused to come in because he "didn't feel like Zion again". Do not underestimate what even a week or two off can do to his body. It could be season ending. We've seen this story before. God, I'm scared

It's an ankle sprain he fully practiced on yesterday. I bet he'll be back by the Spurs game.

Can someone explain why he’s practicing but not playing in games? If hes hurt shouldn’t he rest fully and not practice? Usually players hold off from practice but then play in the games. I don’t really understand this organization thinking at all.

If I told any Pels fan it would take until game #25 for Zion to miss a game due to injury and it, knock on wood, seems like a very minor injury, we'd all gladly take that.

Seems like the literal perfect time to give him a 2 game break from game action while he gets his body into better shape.

You are a massive pussy. This isn't in the same realm as last April when he had a pretty severe hamstring strain that he re aggravated.

He rolled his ankle and has a mild sprain. He's likely already fine. He'll miss at most 2 games.

Mild soreness at best and they want him to take 3 days off it.

Hamstring isn't even close to the same type of injury as a mild ankle sprain. You're letting your past trauma dictate your overreaction.

You also tend to be more likely to get injured when you're overcompensating for another injury.

I agree to what everyone is saying on that in regards to holding him out. Then why even put the guy through practice? Wouldn’t it make sense just to rest his ankle fully? Thats what makes no sense to me. He’s going to practice, do work after practice but then tell him you can’t play in the game.

People have an irrational bug up their arse about it because it's Zion. Star players miss regular season games for minor injuries literally every night across the league. There's 82 fcking games. As long as it's only a game or two we're good.

He's missed over half the games in his career due to injury. He's injury prone. Now he's injured again. Why wouldn't that be a big deal? How are you so confident it will all work out? They have never divulged real injury details or ever been correct about a time line. Never..

Because everyone saw exactly what happened this time. That's never happened before.

Because an ankle sprain that he didn't even leave the game for isn't the same thing as his knee injury, foot breaking, or hamstring pull. It's literally the lowest on the totem pole in terms of severity.

I agree with you (probably not a big deal) but I also feel especially with Zion and this organization people have a right to be paranoid with injuries so I don’t blame anybody for feeling the way they do. Unfortunately, nobody has any trust in Zion’s recovery process or the pelicans medical staff helping him recover properly.
