I love when people say they know the family and then start talking and all you can do is laugh. It’s different to say hi to one another but don’t know anything about them.

His dad really took over Gavin’s future when he was 10. Researched everything and made a plan to get him out of Vinton with a short stop in Sulphur and then was offered a great job at Sasol which allowed them to get to where he wanted to play. I’m not 100% but I think he was still in Vinton when he played in Sulphur. His whole family is from Vinton with plenty of addresses. You are correct about the ages that he made moves. Great family and his dad was huge in providing him with everything he needed to make his dream come true.

Gavin’s sister was a good softball player but really excelled at volleyball at Barbe. She had offers to play in college but it’s funny how things happened. Gavin’s junior year she brought a guy to a wedding and you could tell something was different. That night I met Brody for the first time and he was a big deal. He was just awarded LGPOTY and signed with LSU and she fell hard. He was actually in Love and didn’t know it yet. We know how his career ended at LSU because he had her living with him and couldn’t care less about baseball. Same thing with her athletic mind. Gavin and Brody are completely different though. I’ve never been around anyone like Gavin in my life. He is a special kid and natural leader. He is so driven by his only goal and has a strong mindset that makes him work 24/7 to live his dream. He also started dating a girl right after he got to Baton Rouge. We got worried when he brought her home to the family because he hadn’t ever before. Luckily they are both athletes with dreams and they push each other and make sure they are working harder than ever. Big relief to everyone
