I’m sorry your job has jaded you that much, but you are wrong. Good coaches are invested in these kids way past just wins & losses.

That said, this wasn’t a school employee or coach at barbe.

So how do you explain the hundreds of videos showing innocent people being sucker punched on streets, even in their cars? Is society somehow responsible? And I am far from jaded. I just talked to a ton of faculty members & more than a few coaches who are also teachers & this is type of act, knives included, happens way too often. One P.E. coach, a DL coach for the school's team, a good 6'5", 250 + lbs, in asking me what his responsibility was to himself in defending himself, said he's regularly confronted physically in the hallways & classrooms of his school .This kid, from several accounts here, thought this out & knowingly brought the knife to school for a specific reason. Give your speech here to an auditorium full of teachers / coaches/ administrators & you'd get laughed out of the room. But for a student to get expelled from school in today's world takes a very thorough, dragged out legal process, to the extent many teachers feel it's all a waste of time.
