From The Advocate - AP Bret Martel
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is the Associated Press college player of the year, the school’s second winner in the past five seasons.
As a youth athlete, his nickname was “smooth” he said in an interview with the AP “because it looks like I’m not running fast..but I’m moving faster than what most people think.”
LSU was knocked out of contention for an SEC title when it loss to Bama, a game where Daniels spent most of the fourth quarter on the sideline with concussion symptoms after a penalized hit by linebacker Dallas Turner. Until that point, Alabama’s defense had struggled to contain Daniels.
”That still burns me,” Daniels said,”Obviously we lost to a very good team, but I felt like it would have been a whole different story if I was in there.”

15 yard penalty to secure a W?
Would be dumb for them not to TBH
We were too dumb on defense to retaliate

Saban ALWAYS targets the opposing QB.

After the hit:
12 quarters
1,020 yards passing and 13 TDs
450 yards rushing and 4 TDs
150 points scored
Yeah, it burned him.

Nick ordered the hit. Dallas Turner was the button man. Plain-and-simple.

I’m glad he feels that way, but him being in there isn’t going to make the defense get a stop.

Truth. It’s amazing. He glides.

Welp this will be a 50 page over the weekend thread over on the sec rant when the bammers hear the audio transcription

The infuriating thing is Bama was targeting our QB while House wasn't even spying theirs.

Not sure how anyone except bama fans could see it any other way. Heck tamu went up by two scores in the second half and the defense looked incompetent all game. We won by double digits and mercy kneed at the end. In the bama game all it takes is the defense putting it together for one solitary drive and this offense can tie the game up to go to OT. We had the ball with Daniels down 2 scores starting the fourth. the drive following Daniels getting hurt we got a stop. Even with the team deflated. Granted play calling changes so it’s really impossible to know but this season we were right there at the brink.
It’s weird because technically last years team achieved “more” but I feel like even with the defensive issues we were much closer to the elite teams than last years.
I was at the Tennessee game and we got run off the field. Georgia was ugly also. Tamu loss was inexcusable.
Despite the final scores
FSU was a one score game entering the fourth and that’s with going for it in 4th down TWICE in the redzone and getting zero points in the first half.
Ole miss we had a walk off TD hit off a receivers hands to end the game on the road.
Bama we already covered.

Saban 100 percent told him to do it. They don't tell you to 'hurt' them specifically, they'll say 'take him out of the game'.
Tons of coaches do it. Even when I played in high school our coaches would tell us to take the QB out of the game.

Crazy thing is I think he would have stayed in the game if his mom wasn’t there. Daniels is a fricking warrior on the field.

The other side of this question is, how Alabama continued with a full starting roster with the no call and how that did not affect what they were doing and winning.
This is the same team that benefited from LSU losing a starting lb for their game with LSU.

We would've still had a chance based on how fast we scored on Bama when he was in there. It's just that the defensive
plan and defense was so bad that it seemed unlikely that we could even up the score or take the lead without a turnover and an onside kick recovery or something.
Then again, it seemed extremely unlikely that Bama was going to beat Auburn, but they did. We'll never truly know. When you put up 28 on the road in 3 quarters at Bama, you should win.

And Alabama got into the playoffs because someone else’s QB got hurt.
