Doulton makes premier water filtration systems but they are manufactured in the UK.

Sawyer is another top-notch manufacturer of water filtration systems. Their products are geared more to hikers/campers and outdoors. But its a great back-up in case of an extended power outage, hurricane, natural disaster or even SHTF situation.

Katadyn is another superior product. Militaries issue them all over the world. Its product line is expanding to several water filtration systems.
It's products are made in Sweden though.

Justwater.me is used worldwide and was created for Christian missionaries for use in underdeveloped countries.
Their products are made in the USA, I believe in Texas.
Its bare bones without a lot of frills but it does the job effectively with water.

I always go for redundancy, especially with our most critical resource, water. So go with both RO and a gravity countertop filtration system.

Stay away from the 'big box' water filters. Go with quality.
Big Berkey used to be top notch but they went the made in China route with their filters. I don't know if they fixed their quality issues with their filters(candles). Maybe they have but I would recommend going with one of the above listed water systems.
