Pearson looked very natural at 2B. I assumed he played there a lot in his youth. I'm actually surprised to hear it is new to him. I didn't get the same impression from Kling and Neal when they played at 2B.

I watched him make a play this fall. The ball was hit hard to him. It was actually a nice job just gloving it. He then popped up and gunned the runner out that was going home from third. So he had the instincts to know that the ball was hit hard enough that he would have a shot at the runner coming home. It was really impressive.

I'm basing everything I know off of a few fall scrimmages but I think you guys are going to pleased with his defense.

I have Pearson with one error while playing 2nd base this fall. It came during the PG world series and was a bobble of a routine ground ball. He had quite a few chances since his move from the outfield and handled all the rest very well. I'm confident that he will be OK at 2nd this spring.

So who is the backup at 3B if TWs arm falls off again?
