They aren't toast after 500 rounds. You probably won't get half moa anymore but it's still capable of killing deer. It doesn't just start shotgunning bullets everywhere. The accuracy gradually gets worse but I doubt it shoots 3in groups with 1000 down the tube.

Why even bother dealing with that BS? If you don't care about barrel life go full retard and get a 6.5-300. If you do care, get a 7 mag or 280 ai.

There are testimonials out there of it not only losing accuracy but the throat erosion damaging bullets enough for them to come apart. If used like a hunting gun then you probably never get to this point, or fire rounds fast enough to contribute to erosion, but for a hunting gun it’s just overkill for overkill’s sake. It only exists so nosler could claim they had the fastest commercial 7, and it’ll likely be impossible to get factory loads for in 10 years.
