Same thing happened to us in 2013. It sucks but it has happened before.

if you think that chavis defense was as bad as this shitshow you are nuts.

also the individual records/stats in 2013 from mett, hill, obj and jarvis does not mean that team had a better offense than this year.

In a down year for CFB
How do you come to this conclusion?

Bc the worst Bama team since 2007 still made the playoff.
Georgia was visibly worse than 2021-2022.
LSU had the worst defense in the history of organized football.
Ohio St and Michigan both had pedestrian offenses.
Auburn, Florida, Aggie, Tenn were all pretty crappy.
Clemson was meh.
Penn St was meh.
Wisconsin 5 losses.
USC had a defense about like LSU’s.

The ACC looked mediocre outside of FSU yet still had a winning record against SEC.

It was widely observed that this was almost a wacky 2007 type of year where no team was dominant. It almost became that.

We top the 2019 season this year with a mediocre defense.

1. No we wouldn't. We probably would not have made the playoffs with only a mediocre defense.
2. There have been 1700 threads about this.

I know you are getting downvoted, but this right.

Brian Kelly...loses three games every year. It's what he does.

In my opinion the reason for the down year is NIL and transfering and its gonna stay that way for a while...Players are now chasing a dollar rather than chasing their dreams..I know the ultimate goal is to make the NFL and NFL money but there is no sense of pride or commitment anymore. Coaches cant keep TEAMS together anymore they just have to play with whats left

looks like he did better with the 39 players the previous regime left than he did with the guys he picked and chose so maybe the cupboard wasnt as bare as people make it out to be. From the looks of it he isnt recruiting too well on the defensive side of the ball this year either...players decommiting on that side...makes a fella wonder
