LSU was placed in Tampa because LSU played in Orlando for last year’s Citrus and this year’s opener. Bowls are about tickets sold and tourism, too. Selling LSU fans on a third football trip to Orlando in 365 days is tough.

Tampa gives you a Saints/LSU doubleheader on back-to-back days, if you’re inclined, though the Saints aren’t worth watching right now.

I live here and I would not be crazy about LSU coming back. Tampa is a great change ... AND Saints v Bucs the day before? DING DING DING

The bowl committee knows that, I honestly think it was always Tampa for LSU. The only thing that would've changed would've been the opponent.
