Why are there no SEC/PAC12 bowl games?

Obviously this will be a moot point next year but I've always wondered why there aren't any designated SEC/PAC12 bowl games. You'd think there'd be a little more variety in the conferences the SEC faces in the postseason.

I thought the Vegas bowl was supposed to have been that at one point wasn’t it?

Per their website it's PAC12 versus Big 10(2021,2023,2025) or SEC(2022 and 2024).

There's only the Texas bowl for a Big 12 match-up right? With about 3 or 4 against ACC or Big 10 schools.

I think that’s right. Hopefully the expended playoffs will allow them to revisit the tie in thing. Have some sort of pecking order for the nonplayoff bowls where they get to select the matchups they want and trickle it down. You can even tier the bowls and have the selection order be rotating yearly within the tiers or something.
