That’s not how this works.
Washington would be underdogs to several teams outside of the playoffs.
There’s a reason they actually play the game instead of just crowning the Vegas champ.

My point is that Vegas would have FSU as underdogs to all 4 CFP teams.

Vegas knows more than any “committee”

It’s the BEST 4. Not the most deserving 4.

IMO it should have been
1. Michigan
2. Texas
3. Bama
4. UGA

That’s your best 4. But leaving Washington out would turn these melts into firestorms.

Melting over an FSU that’s clearly not a top 4 or even 5 team is just silly. And dumb.

The translation is that ESPN wanted a better storyline because they figure FSU/Michigan would be a snoozer and a Michigan/Alabama game would draw more eyeballs with a later compelling storyline if they won and then faced Texas in the Final

Think of the storylines and subplots
Harbaugh vs Saban in the Semifinal

Alabama came from being the Eighth ranked team to being on the verge of an unprecedented National Championship

If Alabama reaches the Final against Texas....
