Did Norvell have any indication that their chances may have hinged on such a thing?

They clearly looked like a team playing careful and not to lose, as basically any coach anywhere would do with starting a redshirt freshman QB in his first game, which happened to be against a ranked team. And they seemingly succeeded perfectly under that framework.

I can’t imagine he wouldn’t have approached it differently, though, if he somehow knew his team’s chances at the playoffs hinged on them beating the doors off Louisville.

How is it possibly just, if that is the case, not to make it perfectly clear? How can the committee after the fact hang its hat on such a notion?

This whole deal bothers me more and more irrationally the longer it goes on.

Bottom line is FSU was never getting in. Media had already started talking down FSU before Travis’ injury. There was nothing we could of done.

If they deserved to be in, why are they 14 point dogs to #6? I think there's a strong case that they're actually overrated

So they could have have had more than 55 passing yards, but chose not to?

The committee made it very clear last week when they said that they were taking the 4 best not the 4 most deserving. FSU should’ve known that the eye test matters and if they were going to move forward without their star QB, they at least had to look decent without him

The QB wasn't capable of lighting anybody up. Comparing either of the fsu back up quarterbacks to Cardale Jones is dumb as shite.

if their defense wasn't playing so well, they probably wouldve had to take more chances on offense.

as it was, with a 3rd string QB they did what they needed to do to beat a top 15 team.

bullshite. They played to win and could only muster 16 points against a God awful Louisville team. Playing calling was limited because their 3rd string QB is limited. I swear you WHOs know less about football than any other fan base. Honestly if it bothers you that much you should quit watching football. Bama lives rent free in every single LSU fans head and it's pathetic. Saban left yall over 20 years ago, time to for your fan base to move on.

Didn't Okie State beat Oklahoma 100-0 on the last weekend and nobody gave a shite in 2011? Talking about how great Alabama was during the game on ESPN.

Yes, he had every indication. The ACC is a joke. Their sos was 50 pts below Alabama.

Georgia and Oregon were both favored.

Certain things were out of their control (we sucked and ACC #2 just lost to SEC #9 at home last week) but they had 2 games to prove the committee wrong and looked like arse.
Eventually, karma catches up to you. FSU has been awfully lucky in the past.

Spoken like an insecure Alabama fan who knows they didn't earn their spot.

Why was Bama a 6 point dog to Georgia? Why was Washington a 10 point dog to Oregon State? Why was TCU how big of a dog they were last year to Michigan? Human beings prove time after time, year after year, game after game, that we don’t know who the best team is. It’s 100% subjective. Which is why it should be, should have been, should ALWAYS be most deserving. At least that is somewhat subjective.

On offense. On defense, they were dominant, and Florida doesn't even get a touchdown against them without a blown unnecessary roughness penalty:

Well, UNC beat South Carolina, FSU beat LSU without knocking Jayden Daniels out of the game, Clemson beat South Carolina (which should mean something if Clemson is as "Bad" as everyone claims), and Miami eviscerated Texas A&M.

That's just from what I remember.

The SEC isn't that great this year. Florida is a perfect example due to its "performance" against a Utah team missing key offensive weapons.
