They have an NFL caliber defense. LSU went to a title game with Jordan fricking Jefferson.

There is not an elite quarterback left in the playoffs. Their defense could wreck havoc against anyone out there.

Because the team that did have their QB needed a choke and a prayer to beat a shitty Auburn team and 7 gifted points to beat UGA, while that "not good enough" team had 2 2-score wins with backup QBs. Definitely not hard to under$tand what happened.
