If you're confident that you can smoke a competitor from a technical and personal standpoint, I think you'd be doing yourself a service. If not, maybe acquire more knowledge/certs for something a little more stable.

If you're in a position to be able to gamble on yourself without dependents being affected, say frick it anyway.
