Is Parsons the best player in football? Gun to my head my answer would probably be yes

quote:

He forced an immediate throw on nearly every snap, but you're right that he didn't have stats

he's the equivalent of a defensive basketball player that gets a few steals, blocks, assists, and points every game, but doesn't have giant stats that show him as a super star. but he causes a lot of bad shots, passes, travels, etc. from the other team that can't really be measured.

like somebody said, his QB pressures without necessarily leading in sacks is a weird sort of intangible.

love the dude.

ETA: not saying Parsons is some underrated player. he's obviously a stud and recognized as such. Just that leading in QB pressures isn't as sexy as sacks, TBLoS, etc.

Can't make this shite up. When it happened, and after the game a lot of people were giving Seattle shite for just letting Parsons run free. Apparently that was by design

quote:

"It is the design," Smith said. "He had to squeeze, the right tackle had to squeeze [block inside out] right there versus zero [blitz], so he did the right thing. Micah came free. We knew that would possibly happen. Tried to get the ball around him and just wasn't able to."
