I saw the greatness again. That last run he made and got hurt on showed me what could have been. In an instant he made two guys miss him with suddenness and pure athleticism.

His journey has been long. He has failed mentally more than once. The lsu program has failed him (wrong classes). His body has failed him. But he stayed and tried to overcome the obstacles life threw at him.

Certainly we as fans are disappointed it didn’t turn out the way we hoped. The number one running back coming out of high school. No one is more disappointed than he himself. I hope great things happen for this kid in his future. He more than a little deserves some good luck

A toast to Mr Emery. He deserves it. He is and will always be one of my favorite Tigers!

Far too often emotions and immature opinions show themselves as posts on here. There is a subconscious disconnect that gets created between the TD world and real life.

I get it… life is tough, there needs to be mental toughness and acceptance of criticism etc, but encouragement can go a long way. We would all love to read positive things if that was our kid on one of these teams. Cheers to Emery, life is a marathon, and if he can continue to grow as he has he will become a winner in what really matters.

Great post, OP.

Doesn’t he have another year due to Covid? I thought he could come back once more.
The cut on his last run was incredible. Always been rooting for him and would love for him to come back and kill it.

Good luck to Emery in whatever is next for him. The small sample sizes of his ability in the 3 or 4 years here that we’ve seen when he was eligible to play were nice, but obviously not enough.

For all the grief the kid gets on here, he turned in some memorable plays/performances.

He was the majority of the offense vs Auburn last year when we struggled to beat them.

He had the big catch and run TD vs Bama to start the scoring vs Bama last season with Shaq cheering him on down the sideline.

He scored all 3 of LSU's TDs vs A&M last year and was running well. If JD gives him the ball on the 4th and 1 he had a seam to pick up the 1st and drive for the go ahead TD. Instead JD gets strip sacked for a TD and LSU never recovers.

Much love and respect to Emery for being a Tiger and sticking it out. There's so many variables in this sport. Sometimes things don't pan out like we expect, but his spot in Tiger history is still cemented.

He showed a number of flashes that suggested there was a legit elite runner in there. For whatever reason, he was never able to put all the pieces together for more than a few plays here and there.

But, as you suggest, he is a model for persistence. Call him whatever else you want, he's not a quitter.

That touchdown run against Bama last year will always be cemented in memory. The high step with Shaq in the background pointing to the end zone? Legendary. I really wish he could have pulled himself together from the beginning. His potential was through the roof.

yeah absolutely sucks.

I feel like he always showed promise and never got carrie’s because of a few fumbles.
