Because it’s simply following the precedent of the Super Bowl where the championship game is a “spectacle” at a neutral site. I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand about that. It’s not rocket science.

You're right, it's not rocket science. The college post season has never been the same as the NFL, I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that. Just like they don't group teams the same way the NFL does.
