This doesn't surprise me. My parents retired in San Antonio, and it seems like they squeeze as many houses as they can onto tiny tracks of land. They finally wised up and moved to the outskirts

There are plenty of neighborhoods with decent yards but it is true if you want more than like half an acre you have to pay a premium or head to the outskirts.
