I read the Mal Evans bio.

Those looking for insights on the Beatles themselves will be disappointed.

The most interesting thing was how little it says about Neil Aspinall. As far as I know NA didn't leave a journal, so I guess he's destined to remain an enigma.

I'm not sure I agree with that, but just learning about Mal was good enough for me.

I'm finding this is just very true. He was there AT LEAST as much as Mal (although less clear after the breakup) - and he does come across almost as a ghost.

I'm reading the book now about the Beatles and drugs and it's hilarious when Neil pops up. You'll be reading about an iconic event like Dylan giving them pot and then there'll be offhand mention of Neil. A front row seat and barely registered.
