I bought a 20 year term policy last year and it’s not THAT $$ so apparently Lincoln National thinks I’ll make it to 70. I watched my dad go sedentary in his 40’s, have 4 bypasses at 53 and never fully recover. Always full of fluid and never had that “wow” moment that so many people talk about after having bypasses. I’m 51 and it’s constantly on my mind. He died a slow death at 71 after several years of dialysis. Although not in perfect shape, I am more aware of my health and weigh much less than he did and am way more active. If I don’t want to go to the gym or ride my bike I think of him tethered to that dialysis machine for hours upon hours. No way to live.
