My thoughts:
Give the older one your Nikons.
Buy the younger one a set of Vortex bantam 6.5.
If you hunt a fair amount I would invest in a good set of binos for yourself. Buy the nicest ones you can reasonably afford. You generally get what you pay for. Depending on price range I would vote for vortex diamondback (low end), vortex viper or meopta (mid), or vortex razor or Swarovski (high end) . 8x42, 10x42, or 10x50 depending on what kind of hunting you do . You can frequently find pretty good deals on used mid to high end optics on eBay.
