Our family does homemade spaghetti home made sauce, home made meatballs with italian sausage usually some fried eggplant sticks as an appetizer. My wife also started making from scratch arancini as well

This is our approach as well. Traditional thanksgiving meal then we do an Italian meal for Christmas.
