Tackett's HC in high school, Jess Curtis, was also slated for stardom after last year's success at Many.
How did he do as the new HC at West Monroe?
As i recall, much of the ire on this board was directed at Jess Curtis and not Tackett. Tackett, as some others have observed did not lead LSU to believe it was his leader, nor did he cast shadows at LSU regarding his recruitment.

Wish the kid well, many people said all along due to his limited mobility would be better in big ten etc as run stopper on early downs

He went to Natchitoches Central not West Monroe. He had a LSU commit on his o-line, Joseph Cryer. They went 2-8 in his first season.
