I don't know that he's senile, but he is definitely strongly driven by his ego. He probably (rightly) views our embarrassing withdrawal from Afghanistan as the U.S. getting punked, which we did (thanks, Pedo Joe). Still, there's not anything in that shithole that's worth a single dollar or a single drop of American blood. Let them wallow in the filth and poverty. In the coming world order, we can tell Europe, Africa, and the Middle East to frick right on off. All we'll really need outside of our own hemisphere is Japan, Korea (electronics, semiconductors), Australia/NZ (raw commodities), and the ASEAN nations as a bulwark against China. The rest of the world can get bent.

Actually the benefit to us being gone is now the Taliban is having to look for a new target and they are going after their old enemy the Persians. They love to fight there and they will kill each other if given the chance. I'm just fine with the Taliban and Iran skirmishing and killing each other. We try and go back in though and the focus turns right back on us.

Oh, and if China thinks they can make a deal with the Taliban and have it work out long term they are all kinds of stupid.
